At the young age of seven, I started to discover
my gifts in arts: make
sketches, coloring and painting. My love in art grew stronger through out
the years. I was the Artist of our school in elementary; was chosen as
Artist of the Year in high school; did wall murals, won contests and excel
in different competitions. I graduated in college with a bachelor's degree
in Fine Arts at the University of the East, Philippines. At the age of 22,
I started working for a prominent animation company in the Philippines which
is Burbank Animation Studios (a branch of an Australian company). From then
on, I've been working closely with known animation producers and directors
of different animation companies such as Fil Cartoons studios (a subsidiary
of Hanna Barberra Productions, USA), Fox Animation Studios (a unit of 20th
Century Fox), the company which brought me in the United States in 1996,
and
Stan Lee Media (owned by the creator of famous superhero characters like
Spiderman and Xmen). Nevertheless, my first love, painting, never leave
my
desires and whenever there's a chance to grab a brush and a canvas I do
it.
Now, living in the beautiful city of Glendale, Arizona
with my wife and 3
children, I am still in love with painting. Abstract is my favorite style
in painting. Through abstract paintings, I could express my thoughts and
pour out my emotions in the canvas. After surpassing a difficult time in
my
life in 2007 when I have to go through the pains of having cancer, my
passion for art grew stronger. The painful experience of getting sick and
the joy of being cured have given me an unexplainable emotion and serve
as
additional inspiration to express my feelings through my paintings. As the
saying goes, "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder" so is with
abstract
paintings- the meaning lies in the eyes of the beholder; most often, the
beholder could see and feel the painter's emotions, at least that's from
my own experiences.
