Darla Farner

Artist Statement
"The artwork I have completed
consists of several types of paper layered over hot compressed paper. I use
anything I can get my hands on to create my modern abstract paintings. The
artwork begins with watercolor, then is layered with gouache, acrylics, etc;
until I am completely satisfied. This unique process sometimes takes several
days to weeks for completion. It is the most difficult mixed-media to work
with, since watercolor spreads and acrylics dry fast. I am unable to duplicate
a painting or paint another similar to any (unless I am specifically painting
a pair)." This is what makes the original paintings so valuable and unique!
Specializing in Corporate Art Buyers, Commercial Designers, Interior Decorators
and Modern Contemporary Abstract Art Catalogs. Darla has exhibited her fine
abstract art paintings in several locations in the Portland, Oregon area,
including the Governor's office in Salem, Oregon. She welcomes anyone to purchase
her original abstract art paintings and giclee’ prints.
