Adam Gonzales

Wanna know a bit about me? To begin with.I was born in abilene, up in west texas,i had spent most of my life in austin, I began studying the masters of the craft such as vangogh, klimt, schiele and picasso with an extensive list of others along the way discovering artists such as Warhol and Pollock. as well as becoming influenced by photographers like Berkowitz and Adams. Music brings inspiration, too. There was always The Doors, Stevie Ray Vaughan, jazz ranging from the Dorsey Brothers to Diana Krall, and even the driving rhythm of Van Halen. Now, discusssing my style, although I do works in medium from charcoal to ink, my favorite has always been canvas. I've done some very rare works in oil, mainly I paint in acrylic. When you view my paintings note that I am heavily influenced by Picasso, Van Gogh and Klimt meshed with a modern fashion and a twist of my own style. far as art.. I have no formal training. Never attended an art school.mostly self taught and basically just learned from other artists, read books, attended museums, and most of all experimented on my own just as all artists do. Just think of it this way...we are like chefs. Our minds constantly twisting and turning. Respectfully, in the same manner as musicians and writers, ideas and recipes span endlessly. Here are some words of wisdom to leave you with once said by Pablo Picasso, "every child is an artist, it is a matter of remaining that way once they grow up".
